The Deal is Dead!
|
We have great news! We now have official confirmation that the proposed development of the Bardmoor Golf and Tennis Club by Wheelock Communities and Gentry Land is a dead deal. Here is a statement from Reed Berlinsky at Gentry Land.
"Due to challenges related to transportation planning and the access from Bryan Dairy Road, the Wheelock Communities – Gentry Land Development team has cancelled plans to purchase and redevelop the Bardmoor North Golf and Tennis Club property."
Next Steps
While we are celebrating this latest news, the Bardmoor Golf and Tennis Club property remains one of the largest pieces of undeveloped land in the most densely populated county in Florida, and there is no doubt that developers will continue to pursue it. Save Bardmoor remains vigilant, working with our team of engineers, planners, and attorneys to support elected officials and staff in developing plans and policies that preserve green space.
We anticipate future opportunities for broad community engagement on this topic, and will encourage everyone to participate when those arise. Thank you to everyone in our community for your strong and united support! May you and your family remain safe and healthy.

Protect Open Green Space in Pinellas County
![]() “As residents of Pinellas County, we have to protect our green spaces, we have enough concrete and before you know it we will lose it all if we don’t fight to protect the little green space that is left.
This is not just about Bardmoor.” ~Jennifer Sullivan |
